It used to be that OFWs who were about to take vacation to the Philippines will need to get up early and prepare for a grueling day lining up at the embassy (Abu Dhabi Philippine Embassy). This can take up roughly an hour to more than half a day. You can hear bickering here and there from people who might have lost their space in line or from people who are already tired and hungry. Really it’s not the total fault of the embassy, but maybe they are undermanned to accommodate such influx of Overseas Foreign Workers.
With the introduction of the Online Appointment for OECs, people were hesitant to use it (including me) because the first launch had so much loopholes, in short – it wasn’t working properly. So, after much hesitation, I tried to secure an online appointment for hubby to make the process shorter. And indeed it was! The initial process of filling up the details using your computer or laptop will take a bit of time (20minutes) so make sure you have all your details ready, passport number, expiry, contract details. Anyway you will only have to do it one time. Once you have completed your profile, setting up appointments will not take more than 5 minutes.
I’ll break down the 10 steps here and hope that you will all find it easy to follow for your convenience. Cheers!
Step 1. Go to https://www.bmonline.ph/
Step 2. Create your profile using your email address and preferred password.
Step 3. Again, as I mentioned above, “the initial process of filling up the details using your computer or laptop will take a bit of time (20minutes) so make sure you have all your details ready, passport number, expiry, contract details.”
Step 4. Now on to the easy part. Once you have filled up all the info, you will be led to this page. Input your ticket/flight date.
Step 5. You will be asked to select a location.
Step 6. After you have submitted the form above, you will find available dates (calendar).
Step 7. Choose preferred time.
Step 8. Once done, you will receive a confirmation with the date, time and venue.
Step 9. Print the confirmation, and make sure to bring it together with the required documents like passport, contract etc.
Step 10. Go to the embassy on the set date and time. It is near Mushriff Mall, in the Embassies area. Proceed directly to the release section and wait to be called. *DO NOT line up anymore. Now once you are called, it will take about 5 minutes (like my husband and up to 30 the most. Good luck.
